Species text
This micromoth occurs in the south-east of England and East Anglia. The larva feeds on hop Humulus lupulus, forming a gallery or blotch mine lined with silk, usually around the midrib of a leaf. Goodey (2004) gives the species as a scarce resident in Essex, with scattered older records, but only two recent. Plant (2008) states that from 2003-5 the species started to appear as larval mines on hop leaves at various places in the southeast, although there was only one record in Hertfordshsire, at Parndon Mead in 2003. Adults were present in some numbers in the Ingrebourne Valley at Rainham on hops growing sprawled over vegetation and up scrub at the southern end of the compartment, in the corridor from the A1306 access.
